Getting Started · Navigating Your Lab

Your three work areas

Lesson videoNo video added yet

Keep the three areas straight

  • Learning page: instructions, progress and session controls.
  • Development environment: the remote desktop containing your tools and saved files.
  • Simulation: the interactive machine view rendered in your browser.

Try it

  1. With your lab ready, press Open development environment. It opens in another browser tab or window. If your browser blocks it, allow pop-ups for the portal.
  2. Return to the learning page and press Open Simulation.
  3. Identify a straight conveyor, a curved conveyor and a motor in the simulation.
  4. Switch back to the development-environment window, then return to this lesson.

The machine can be stationary. You do not need to program or run anything in this course. Learning how to use the development tools belongs in your later courses.

Closing a browser tab is not the same as ending a session. Keep the learning page available so you can use End session when you are finished. Open just one simulation tab for this lab.

Outcome

Move between the learning page, development environment, and simulation.

Practical check

  • Open both lab windows and return to the lesson without ending the session.
