Getting Started · Navigating Your Lab

Move around the simulation

Lesson videoNo video added yet

Mouse practice

Open Help in the simulation to see the controls while you practice.

  1. Right-drag to rotate around the machine.
  2. Middle-drag, or hold Shift and right-drag, to move the view sideways.
  3. Use the scroll wheel to zoom toward a motor, then zoom back out.
  4. Find a curved conveyor and view it from two different angles.
  5. Press Home view to return to the starting view.

Moving the camera does not move the machine or change its program.

Keyboard alternative

Focus the simulation’s keyboard-navigation control as shown in Help. Use arrows to move across the factory floor: Up/Down move forward/backward and Left/Right move sideways. Q raises the view; A lowers it. Hold Shift with arrows to rotate. + / - zoom; H returns Home.

Press Escape to leave keyboard navigation. While it has focus, wheel/trackpad camera movement is paused inside the simulation; it is not disabled on your computer. Mouse click-and-drag remains available. Do not practice shortcuts in a text field.

Check yourself

Find a motor close up, find a curved conveyor from the opposite side, and return Home without reloading the page. Try the mouse controls even if you usually prefer keyboard navigation.

Outcome

Use supported mouse and keyboard camera controls, zoom, and Home.

Practical check

  • Find named machine objects from two viewpoints; use arrows, Q/A, and Home to recover the starting view.
