Session and machine controls

Lesson videoNo video added yet

Different controls, different jobs

  • Home view changes only the camera.
  • Reset machine restores the simulation state. It does not delete saved files or reset your program, and it does not end or extend the session.
  • Extend session (+60 min) requests another hour for the running session.
  • End session shuts down the lab and saves its workspace.

Try it

  1. Find the simulation’s connection indicator and read its status. A connected indicator is not proof that a machine program is running.
  2. Move the camera and use Home view.
  3. Press Reset machine, following any confirmation shown. The scene returns to its starting state; a stationary machine may show little visible change.
  4. Return to the learning page. Find Lab details, Extend session and End session.
  5. Press Extend session (+60 min) once and check the confirmation. Do not keep extending just to complete this course.

The normal session starts with two hours. Extensions add an hour, up to a 12-hour continuous-session limit. If you see the expiry warning, choose Extend only if you intend to keep working; otherwise finish and use End session. You do not need to wait for that warning to complete this practice.

When connection health reports a problem, return to the learning page and reopen the affected window. Do not assume Reset machine repairs a lost connection.

Outcome

Read connection health and distinguish session controls from Reset machine.

Practical check

  • Identify the expiry warning and Extend/End actions; demonstrate that Reset machine is not a project-file reset.
